Concert | Kohr Guitar

Quartet Danilo Alvarado, Barbara Giusto, Christina Schorn-Mancinelli, Yvonne Zehner

Founded in Neukirchen am Großvenediger in 2023, the Kohr Guitar Quartet was made up of musicians from different countries. The ensemble is inspired by the Austrian philosopher and economist Leopold Kohr. In his honour, the Spanish composer Agustín Castilla-Ávila dedicated the piece ‘As if the ways of nature could ever be reactionary’ to the quartet. The title, a quote from Leopold Kohr, is the quartet's programme. Together, Danilo Alvarado, Barbara Giusto, Christina Schorn-Mancinelli and Yvonne Zehner trace the phenomena of nature in a musical way. Their repertoire ranges from microtonality to popular music and crossover. The focus here is always on people and their musical view of the world. In summer 2024, the quartet's first trip abroad took them to France.
